Study Tour: MCRD Union Minister meets Accounting Course students

The Cooperative Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development arranged a study tour for the students from Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training Centers in Magwe, Mandalay, Mawlamyine, Taunggyi and Pathein.

On 11th January, Union Minister U Hla Moe met with the students in Nay Pyi Taw. During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the need to effectively apply the experiences gained during the trip for socio-economic progress of the people and human resource development.

He added that the Cooperative Department plans to organize job fairs by inviting the economic organizations, cooperative associations and Banking institutions to create job opportunities for the trainees after completing the course. The Union Minister urged the students to try hard to become outstanding trainees who can contribute for the community and the State as well.

During the excursion, students visited Universities of Cooperative and Management in Thanlyin and Sagaing, paid homage to Maravijaya Buddha Image, observed MRTV and its Diamond Jubilee Museum, Defence Services Museum, and National Museum.

In the evening, they also visited Water Fountain Garden and will pay homage to Uppatasanti Pagoada on 12th January. It is learnt tht the Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training Centers have been opened in Taunggyi, Magwe, Pathein, Mandalay and Mawlamyine in June 2022 as a two-year certificate course.

It aims for those who passed Grade-8 (Old curriculum) and Grade-10 (New curriculum) to be able to pursue the accounting subject as their vocation. During the first year studies, students have to learn Business Accounting , fundamentals of ICT, Cooperative subject, Myanmar, English, Maths and Economic subjects, while Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, Computerized Accounting, Business Organization and Management, Cooperative Accounting and Auditing, English, Maths and Economic in 2nd Year.

Students who passed distinctions in specialized subjects and Maths can join the Cooperative Degree Colleges. After completing the course, Certificate in Business Accounting will be conferred to the students.
