Study tour in Fuwai Hospital: MoH UM toured Fuwai Hospital in Beijing of China

Union Minister for HealthProfessor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, who is currently in Beijing, China, along with delegation members and officials from Myanmar Embassy to the People's Republic of China, visited Fuwai Hospital, a leading cardiac specialty hospital in Beijing, in the morning of December 4.

At Fuwai Hospital, the Union Minister and delegation were welcomed in the hospital's conference hall by hospital officials. They were briefed on the collaboration between the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Fuwai Hospital under the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China. It was explained that Fuwai Hospital is one of the largest cardiac specialty centers in the world, conducting patient care, research, and training programs. In addition to treating cardiac patients, the hospital provides both short- and long-term training programs for international students in cardiovascular medicine. The officials also discussed the hospital’s cooperation with Myanmar in cardiac care and provided an overview of the hospital’s operations and activities.

The Union Minister and delegation discussed plans to continue collaboration between China and Myanmar in medical education, training programs, and patient care.

The delegation toured several specialized units within the hospital, including the Coronary Care Unit, Catheterization Laboratory, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Global Training Center for Cardiac Intervention Imaging, and outpatient cardiac diagnostic departments.

Fuwai Hospital, located in Beijing, is a major cardiac specialty hospital with over 1,500 patient beds, 15 catheterization laboratories, and 36 cardiac surgery operating rooms. It performs approximately 20,000 cardiac surgeries and 50,000 catheter-based procedures annually, it’s reported.
