The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for the the Ministry of Energy U Ko Ko Lwin currently in the People's Republic of China to attend the 3rd World Oil and Natural Gas Conference and to discuss Myanmar-China energy cooperation, visited the Lu An Chemical Plant in Changzhou City, which produces fertilizer from coal on November 9, 2024.
The plant representatives presented the production processes, control systems utilizing modern technology, and the plant's operations for producing the necessary gas from coal to manufacture urea fertilizer. They also demonstrated the production facilities and equipment, engaging in a Q&A session where the Union Minister and delegation members inquired further, with plant officials providing detailed responses.
On November 10, 2024, the delegation visited the Aerospace Museum and the Research and Development Center of CETEC (Changzheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.) in Beijing. At CETEC headquarters, the delegation met with officials to discuss the importance of ensuring a continuous, high-quality supply of coal as a primary raw material for fertilizer production, utilizing advanced technologies such as Clean Coal Technology (CCT) to reduce environmental pollution, and adhering to international standards for environmental protection, systematic transferring of advance technology applying in the project implementation and providing training programs to enhance human resources.
On November 11, the Union Minister and delegation members took part in the interactive discussion regarding the use of cryogenic technology to extract oxygen and nitrogen in fertilizer production, and the technology for generating the necessary electricity from coal held at WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited in Beijing, it’s learnt.
