Strong winds, snowfall paralyse traffic in Slovakia

Heavy snowfall and strong winds hit the east and north of Slovakia on Sunday.

The situation was worst in the country's east, where between 15 and 30 centimetres of snow fell, with 120 firefighters sent to the scene. Several police officers were also on the ground directing and diverting traffic. Residents were asked not to leave their homes except in an emergency.
