Strengthening Cooperation: SG receives Russian Delegation

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received First Deputy Commander of the Ground Force of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel General Kim Alexei Rostislavovich at the Zeya ThiriBeikman in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

Also present at the meeting were Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and senior Tatmadaw officers, Russian Military Attaché to Myanmar Colonel Sergey Kurchenko and Russian senior military officials.

On the occasion, the two sides discussed further cooperation in education, health and technology including defence sector of the armed forces of the two countries, cooperating in anti-terrorism, dispatching scholars from Myanmar Tatmadaw to Russia for further studies, promoting friendship among the two armed forces, participation of Myanmar Tatmadaw in the cultural competition and the International Army Games held in Russia and exchange program, strategic cooperation in economic and technological sectors of the two countries.

They also exchanged views on emphasizing on combat terrorism globally and supporting the regional and global peace through cooperation of the armed forces of Myanmar and Russia in combating terrorism. After the meeting, the Senior General and the Chief of Staff office exchanged commemorative gifts.
