Strengthening Cooperation: MOST Deputy Minister visits China

Myanmar and China signed a total of 7 MOUs in Kunming on 6th November 2024.

Among them, the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology has signed two MOUs with the Standardization Administration of China and National Institute of Metrology of China under the State Administration for Market Regulation.

In order to implement these MOUs effectively, Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zeya visited the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in Beijing on 7th January as an official visit under Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund Project 2022.

The delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Head of SAMR Mr. Shu Wei and officials. During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed matters pertaining to collaborative activities on long term durability and development of National level infrastructure.

The meeting also focused on acceleration of National level scientific measurements, standardization and quality assurance accreditation of the infrastructure marking the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and China.
