Storage of MEVMs: UEC Chairman inspects the MEVMs in Sagaing Region

Union Election Commission (UEC) Chairman U Than Soe and Commission members met with Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) Supervisory Committee members, and regional, district, and township sub-committee staff at the Sagaing Region Government Office on Friday.

During the meeting, the UEC Chairman emphasized reviewing past election strengths and weaknesses, ensuring accurate voter lists through cooperation with the General Administration Department and Ministry of Immigration and Population, and continuing the use of MEVMs in future elections.

The Commission members then presented additional reports. On May 21, the UEC Chairman and members inspected MEVMs in Sagaing and Monywa Townships and met with the staff from the district and township commission offices.

The UEC Chairman highlighted MEVM supervision, fire safety, moisture and pesticide protection, systematic battery storage, and biannual inspections. He also encouraged the staff and provided cash assistance to them.
