







The 60th ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting and related meetings, hosted by Myanmar and led by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, commenced in Hybrid Mode on the morning of November 17, 2025, at the Jasmine Nay Pyi Taw Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo attended the opening ceremony of the meeting and delivered an address.
In his address, the Union Minister warmly welcomed all senior officials from ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partner countries attending the meeting. He expressed great honor that Myanmar has the opportunity to host these important meetings, namely the ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting and the ASEAN Transport Ministers' Meeting.
He also welcomed the development of the ASEAN Transport Strategic Plan (2026-2030) in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and ASEAN Connectivity 2030. He stated that the continuous support from Dialogue Partners for innovation and capacity building is highly effective for the development of a sustainable transport sector in the ASEAN region. He expressed gratitude for the continuous cooperation and strong commitments of the ASEAN family, Dialogue Partners, and the ASEAN Secretariat.
Following this, a group photo was taken with the senior officials from the member countries attending the meeting, and the meeting agendas commenced. Myanmar previously hosted the Senior Transport Officials Meeting and related meetings twice, in 2003 and 2014. This marks the third time Myanmar is hosting as the host country.
It is reported that senior officials from ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, and senior officials from Dialogue Partners such as China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the EU are participating in the current meetings. The meetings will be held from November 17th to 19th.
