Stake driving ceremony: Stakes drove for construction of temples for Buddha Images

Organized by Rakhine State Government, the stake driving ceremony for the construction of two temples for the residing of Maravijaya Buddha image and Abhayarajamuni Buddha image at the precinct of Lawkananda pagoda in Sittwe was held in the morning on 14th August and attended by the OvadacariyaSayadawgyis and members of Sangha, State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Government Ministers, military officials from Sittwe station and invited guests.

First, State Chief Minister paid homage to the Buddha image in Lawkananda pagoda and offered flower, water and candle light.

Then, as the first part of ceremony, the congregation led by the state Chief minister observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of Pannalankara monastery and offered the offertories to the members of Sangha.

At the auspicious time, the state Chief minister and officials took the position and the members of Sangha drove the stakes of temples of the Maravijaya Buddha Image and Abhayarajamuni Buddha image reciting religious verses and sprinkled with scented water.

the Maravijaya Buddha Image and Abhayarajamuni Buddha image are residing at the precinct of Lawkananda pagoda in Sittwe and the devotees are invited to pay homage to those Buddha Images, it’s reported.
