Sri Lanka Plans ‘Arogya’ Health Centres

Sri Lanka’s Health and Mass Media Minister announced that the ministry is planning health and wellness centres called ‘Arogya’ based on Indian primary healthcare system. The event to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of India was attended by High Commissioner of India, officials from the Indian mission, members of the Indian community and friends of India.

Speaking at the commemoration dinner of Sri Lanka-India Society stated that the focus and framework of the system will be similar to Indian systems which he witnessed during his recent visit to India. The minister also invited Indian firms to set up pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka.
