Sri Lanka’s third phase of the Eastern Container Terminal comes inline

Sri Lanka had commenced operations of the third phase of eastern container terminal at Colombo harbor, marking a major milestone as the leading re-export hub in South Asia. The newly opened third phase enables the eastern container terminal to handle operations of three container vessels simultaneously. 

Officials stated that the development will further enhance the status of Colombo harbor as the foremost re-export and transshipment center in the South Asian region, strengthening Sri Lanka’s position along key global maritime trade routes.
