Sri Lanka’s largest international gem show opens

The largest international gem exhibition, ‘Gem Sri Lanka - 2026’, took place in Colombo from January 7 to 9.

The event was inaugurated under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and marks the third edition of the international exhibition organised by the Ceylon Gem and Jewellery Traders Association. More than 2,000 main stream buyers of 50 countries participated in the exhibition, which consists of 110 international gems and jewellery exhibition stalls.

Prime Minister stated that the unique contribution being provided by the gems and jewellery sector, to strengthen the economy of this country is appreciable. She also pointed out the importance of further safeguarding the fame worldwide for gems of Sri Lanka.
