Spreading Disinformation: False claims on military service bribery allegations

The alleged fake news circulating on social media claims that eligible youths in Bogalay Township of the Ayeyawady Region must pay a bribe of 50,000 kyats to evade military recruitment.

However, a township administrative official has refuted these claims, asserting that officials are conducting awareness campaigns to educate the public about military service and to prevent panic.

The illegal and destructive media outlets are intentionally spreading fabricated news. Public and youths are advised to seek information about military service through state-owned media channels.
