Spreading Disinformation: Fake news on incident in Thet Kal Kyin Village, Monywa

One of the illegal destructive media outlets, Khit Thit Media, is intentionally spreading misinformation through social media platforms, alleging that security forces launched an arson attack on Thet Kal Kyin Village, Monywa Township of Sagaing Region on 14th of March.

The true incident is that, the so-called PDF terrorist group usually commit terrorist activities around Thet Kal Kyin Village such as robbing, abducting and threatening local residents. The security forces conducted security operations near Thet Kal Kyin Village on 14th of March according to information sent by a local informant and seized 2 temporary tents, 2 handmade arms and explosive devices. 

According to a security official, the PDF terrorists launched heavy weapon attacks while the security forces were conducting security operation and caused an explosion in Thet Kal Kyin Village. The illegal destructive media outlets are purportedly spreading the misinformation through social media platforms to degrade the dignity of the security forces and to sow discord among Tatmadaw and public.
