Sports Sector: Victorious Sepak Takraw Teams honoured in Mon State

Mon State Government organized a ceremony to honour the victorious athletes at the 2024 States and Region Sepak Takraw Tournament on June 2nd.

Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein said special emphasis has been made for development of sports standards as a national duty. In order to compete in the tournament, the athletes have gone through the camp training, and resulted in winning gold medal at Women Regu event and silver medal at the Doubles Regu events.

The Chief Minister urged the concerned officials to make effort to maintain this kind of success and to achieve more success in the upcoming National Sports Festival to be held from December 9th to 20th. Then, the Chief Minister received the victory trophy on behalf of the regional government. The Victorious Teams were awarded with 7.5 million kyats.
