Sports Sector :U-16 Asian Athletic Championships 2023 in Tokyo

Japan is hosting the U-16 Asian Athletic Championships 2023 from 23rd to 29th August in Tokyo. At the invitation of Japan, selected badminton and table tennis athletes from Myanmar Badminton Federation (MBF) and Myanmar Table Tennis Federation left for Japan on the 24thof August via air route to participate in the Championships.

Director ,Htay Aung ,Dept. of Sports & Physical Education said " 16 representative cities of 16 countries have participated in the competition, and we’ve taken part as a representative of Yangon, Myanmar. Through this competition, our athletes can get a lot of experiences to compete in the upcoming SEA Games and international competitions."

Vice Chairman ,Tun Tun Oo , Myanmar Badminton Federation said " After holding U-16 badminton and table tennis competitions at the federations, we selected top 3 men and 3 women athletes. I believe that our athletes can get many benefits through this Asian Athletic Championships 2023 from the selected athletes of South Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia and many other countries."

It’s reported that altogether 21 athletes and coaches for badminton and table tennis sports events left for Tokyo from the Yangon International Airport.
