







Union Minister for Sports Affairs U Ye Myint Tun inspected sports facilities in Sagaing and Mandalay regions on Sunday to promote sports development and improve regional sports standards.
Accompanied by concerned officials, the Union Minister inspected renovation works at the 700th Anniversary Gymnasium in Sagaing Township, funded by the 2026-2027 Union budget, including the football pitch, sprinkler system, overhead water tank, grandstand, perimeter walls and staff housing.
The Union Minister instructed the relevant companies to prioritize quality, comply with international standards and ensure long-term durability. The delegation then proceeded to Poe Tann Sports Stadium to oversee the construction of a district-level indoor sports hall, funded by the 2026-2027 Region Government budget, and gave instructions on its sustainability.
They also inspected Mya Ayar Tennis Courts and instructed to ensure quality flooring. In Mandalay Region, the Union Minister and party inspected facilities at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Mandalay) and Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Chanmyathazi Township.
At the Women's Football Academy (Mandalay), the Union Minister and party met with the principal, teachers and trainees, and urged them to strive for excellence in training to raise the standard of Myanmar football and support the Myanmar women's national football team. Sports equipment and cash assistance were also presented to the trainees.
