












A donation ceremony of Wushu sports equipment contributed by the People’s Republic of China to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs was held at Kyeikkasan Sports Ground in Tamwe Township, Yangon on June 4th. Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the event together with Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia and officials.
As Wushu sport is popular in Myanmar, the Chinese Ambassador expressed her willingness on further cooperation in Sports sector strengthening Myanmar-China friendship. She also extended her wishes for continuous development of Myanmar sport sector by turning out outstanding athletes for the country.
Then, the Union Minister expressed his appriciation on China’s donation of sport equipment and providing joint training to Myanmar Wushu athletes. He urged the athletes and officials to try their best to grab madels in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. During the ceremony Wushu sport equipment worth of 15 million kyats were donated and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs accepted the donated items and presented the certificates of honour in return.
The Chairman of Myanmar Wushu Federation U Thitsar expressed words of thanks and commemorative group photo session was followed. The Union Minister later met with the Ms. Ma Jia to discuss acceleration of cooperation between the two countries for the development of Myanmar sports sector during 2026-2027 fiscal year.
They also talked about winning success in the South East Asia and Asia sports competitions. The Union Minister and party later visited Teqball stadium, inspected the camp training of the athletes who will compete in coming 33rd SEA Games. Later, the Union Minister and party attended the opening ceremony of 2025 Region and State U-18 Track and Field Competition and delivered an opening speech.
Yangon Region Chief MInister presented 500,000 kyats cash reward to the performance troupe and the attendees enjoyed men and women relay events.
