Sports Sector: Development activities of weight lifting sport

To uplifting the standard of weight lifting sport and bring out a new generation of athletes, the State and Regional weight lifting competition 2023 was held at the Wunna Theikdi stadium on Tuesday.

It was attended by Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Minister and concerned officials. On the 1st day of the competition, Yin Yin Htwe (Bago), Cho Zin Myint (Magway) and Khaing Thazin Aung (Ayeyarwaddy) were awarded for the 1st 2nd and 3rd places in the 45 kilo class (Women) event.  

Htet Arkar Phyo (Magway), Pyae Sone Oo (Ayeyarwaddy) and Myo Min Htet (Ayeyarwaddy) were awarded for the 1st 2nd and 3rd places in the the 55 kilo (Men) class event and Htet Arkar Phyo (Magway) set a new fast recorded with 96 kilo. 

The weight lifting (49), (55) kilo classes (women) and 61 kilo class (men) competitions will take place on Wednesday. The State and Regional Weight Lifting competition 2023 starting from 12th to 16th September at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw and a total of 172 athletes are participating.
