







Hailing the 71st Anniversary Kayah State Day, the opening ceremony of 400-meter Synthetic Runway and Gymnasium was held in the compound of Kayah State Sports Grounds on Saturday.
Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin made an opening speech, saying that the State Government is providing the needs for regional development including sports sector, He urged all the departmental personnel, local residents and sports enthusiasts to cooperate in long term maintenance work of the facilities.
The runway was then formally opened by members of the State Administration Council U Saw Daniel, U Sai Lone Hsai and U Shwe Kyein, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint and the Chief Minister.
The SAC members and officials later inspected the runway and sports grounds. It was followed by the performance by the students and sports events, and the SAC members and the Chief Minister presented honorary awards to the winning athletes and dance troupe.
Then, the Gymnasium was formally opened by SAC member U Saw Daniel, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs and the Chief Minister. They also viewed the demonstration of using sports and fitness gears.
