Sports Event: 2024 States and Regions U-18 Athletic Tournament

2024 States and Regions U-18 Athletic Tournament jointly organized by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and Myanmar Athletic Federation continued at WannaTheikdi Stadium and Training Field No-1 in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

Women (5,000-meter walking, long jump, 800,200, and 400-meter hurdles, hammer throw, 2,000-meter heptathlon) and men (hammer throw, 800 and 200 meter long jump, 400 meter hurdles) events were held on Saturday.

After the competition, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Ministers and officials from Myanmar Athletics Federation presented 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and cash awards to the winners respectively as well as Union Minister presented cash of honor to the former selected athletics athletes.

After the competitions on 24th August, Shan State Team stood 1st place with 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, Tanintharyi Region Team in 2nd, Sagaing Region Team in 3rd and Mandalay Region Team in 4th respectively.

On 25th August, Men (5,000m, shotput, pole vault, 110m hurdles, 200m, 400mrelay, and 800m) events and women (3,000m, 100m hurdles, shotput, pole vault, 200m, 400m relay, and 800m) events will continue and sport enthusiasts can enjoy the events free of charge.
