Sports & Education Sector: Sports &Education combined course opened in Taunggyi

The opening ceremony of Sports and Education combined course for 2023-2024 Academic Year of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Taunggyi) under the Department of Sports and Physical Education of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs was held at the Institute on 6th June. 

Trainees of the course including the athletics, boxing, football, judo, taekwondo and volleyball introduced themselves to the Shan State Chief Minister and officials. Next, the State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye delivered a speech saying that this course is opened with the aim of balancing the sports and education sectors and to turn out new generation athletes.

Then, the State Chief Minister presented 1 million kyats donated by the Shan State Government and 1 million kyats for sport equipment and the course through the Principal of the Institute and trainees. The Principal also returned the certificates of honor to the well-wishers.

After that, the State Chief Minister and party viewed around the displayed sports aids and equipments. Next, they visited and encouraged the students who are learning at DhammaVepulla monastic school at Shwe Nyaung Aung Thapyay, Basic Education Middle School in Shwe Nyaung Gone in Taunggyi Township and No.2 Basic Education High School Aye Tharyar. There, they provided cash assistance for the schools through the principals of the schools.
