Sports and Youth Affairs: Youth Awareness Talks organized in Nay Pyi Taw

Aiming to promote the spirit of patriotism, to have correct thinking and to develop the physical and mental strengths of young people, the Youth Awareness Talks, jointly organized by Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee and Nay Pyi Taw Council Youth Affairs Committee, was held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium B on Tuesday.

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee made an opening speech saying that it is necessary to nurture well-educated young people with good morale and intellectual skills as per the social affairs of objectives set by the state administration council “To nurture youth to become physically strong, intellectually capable, morally upright, socially adept and economically empowered young individuals poised to lead the nation's development efforts”.

He stressed the need to promote education sector to fill the need of outstanding human resources for the development of the country.

Next, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Youth Affairs Committee said that Nay Pyi Taw council have been conducting Youth awareness talks and round table talks to improve the knowledge and mental strengths for students in Naypyitaw State Academy, Yezin University and Basic Education Schools in Nay Pyi Taw Council area.

He urged students to continue learning not only the school curriculum but also IT technology, English and other foreign languages.

Next, the Speaker gave and educative awareness talk, followed by demonstration of Fitness dance, Bovinam and Judo sports by the young athletes from Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

During the event, sports gears and cash assistance were provided by Union Minister U Min Thein Zan, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Youth Affairs Committee.
