







Magwe Region Chief Minister’s Cup Inter-Township Futsal Tournament 2023 commenced on Saturday. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and officials attended the opening ceremony, held at the Futsal Court of the Region Sports and Physical Education Department.
The Chief Minister said the government is carrying out for gaining further achievement in futsal sports by laying down the long term plans. He urged all the players to strive for achieving success in the tournament by competing the matches with sports spirit.
In the opening match, Chauk Township Team beat AungLan Team with 5-3. 17 teams from the respective townships in Magwe Region are participating in the tournament which will be held until 28th February.
The Chief Minister later viewed the teaching aid program being provided for the informal students who will sit for the 2023 matriculation exams at No.4 Basic Education High School in Magwe. The program is being carried out at 23 towns with the supervision of the Regional Education Office under the guidance of the Magwe Region Government.
The program will be conducted from 22nd February to 3rd March. Over 13,000 students applied for the 2023 matriculation exams in Magwe Region, and 54 exam centers are being set up in 24 townships. Magwe Region achieved 42.03% passing rate in 2022 matriculation exams, and it is targeted to achieve 45% this year.
