In order to compete in the 19th Asian Games which will be held in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China, from 23rd September to 8th October 2023, the selected Myanmar Wushu athletes are under training at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon).

Swe Swe Thant, Coach, Myanmar Wushu Federation said "We chose the athletes who won medals in the 32nd SEA Games and other competitions to compete in the 19th Asian Games. As the 19th Asian Games is drawing near, about 70% of the preparations are being carried out. The skills of the trainees have improved as they have to practice 10 times a week. First, we train them to improve their stamina and then techniques. Our wushu athletes are trying their best to win medals in every competition. "

Sandi Oo, Wushu Athlete said "We create and practice the unique and modern movements that can catch the attention of the judges. And we are focusing on improving our stamina and maintaining the balance.  I’ve been playing Wushu since I was 7 years old and I won 1 silver medal in the 16th Asian Games and 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals in the 32nd SEA Games. I’m trying my best in practicing for the competition."

In the 19th Asian Games Myanmar athletes will participate in 5 events – 2 for men and 3 for women against the athletes from Viet Nam, Indonesia and many other countries.
