Sport Sector : U-19 Women Football Tournament kicks off

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Region/State U-19 Women Football Tournament was held at the state sport ground in Taunggyi Township of Southern Shan State on 23rd August.

At the event, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye urged the athletes to participate with strong passion by following rules and regulations of the tournament, and to try hard to become outstanding athletes in order to promote the prestige of the country.

Also, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing delivered a speech and the ceremony was opened with the performances by trainees from the Taunggyi Education Degree College.

The Chief Minister and the Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs presented cash awards to the trainees who staged the performances.

And, the State Chief Minister, the Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, State Ministers, state/district/township level departmental officials and guests watched the 1st match in which the Shan State Team played against the Mon State Team.

It’s reported that the 2023 Region/State U-19 Women Football Tournament participated by 14 teams is set from 23rd August to 4th September.
