






The awarding ceremony for the highest sports activities in 2022 and the short story, article, poem and photo competition commemorating the Public sports activities in December 2022 was held at Wunnatheikddi Stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw on 9th June.
Firstly, Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan made a speech. He said in order to achieve success in international competitions, the ministry is striving to turn out new generations. H
e reiterated that it is the responsibility of all the staff under the ministry for the success and development of the sports sector. He urged all to make concerted effort to achieve the success of the state and regional sports competitions according to the Ministry's guidelines.
He stressed the needs to monitor and record the works carried out by the regions and states department. He urged all to encourage the participation of the entire population for the emergence of a new generation outstanding young athletes.
Then, the winners of the short story, article, poem and photo competitions were presented with certificates of honor and cash awards.The Union Minister also presented awards to two athletes who won 2 gold medals each in the 2022 freestyle speed skating competition held in Malacca, Malaysia.
