Sport Sector: Aiming to promote Myanmar futsal sports

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Regional Sports and Physical Education Committee Patron Cup Inter-Township U- 25 Futsal Tournament was held at the Futsal Court of the Magwe Region Sports and Physical Education Department on 2nd June.

Aiming to promote Myanmar futsal sports, the inter-township U- 25 regional futsal tournament was held under the guidance of Magwe Region Government. 240 futsal athletes from 20 townships in Magwe Region are going to participate group-stage competition with 9 events, dividing into 6 groups . At the start of competition on 2nd June, the Salin Township team and the Sinbaungwe Township team are going to compete.

Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education, Than Aung said "As the national futsal tournament is set to be held in Nay Pyi Taw on July 13th, Magwe Region is holding a futsal regional competition to select a region selection team to compete in national tournament. And I believe that athletes can only improve their skills and bring out hidden talents by organizing successive competitions and providing long-term training camps."

Player, Kan Ma Township Team, Phyo Khant Paing said "I have been training since the 27th May for the regional tournament. It is convenient for me to improve my skills by training properly and systematically here."

The U-25 inter-township regional futsal tournament will be held from June 2nd to 6th, and the first, second, third and fourth prize winners from 20 participating teams will be awarded respectively.
