Spike Lee entertains and educates with his new film "BlacKkKlansman"

Spike Lee premiered his latest film, 'BlacKkKlansman' in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York, on Monday night. The film is based on the true story of Ron Stallworth, a black police officer who infiltrated the Colorado Springs chapter of the KKK.

The film stars John David Washington, and Adam Driver plays the white officer who helps him pull off the subterfuge. The film is first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and earned Lee the Grand Prix award and the Ecumenical Jury Special Mention along with a ten-minute standing ovation. The film will be released in U.S. theaters on August 10th.
