The opening ceremony for the Public Finance Management Special Refresher Course (Batch 8) was held at the Public Financial Management Training School, under the Ministry of Planning and Finance in Nay Pyi Taw on November 11.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance, U Win Shein emphasized that the nation’s human resources, financial capacity, and the natural resources are limited, the effective public financial management is essential for the sustainable growth and stability of these existing resources,the political, economic, and social development largely depends on the strength of the public financial management, and establishing a sound public financial management system and nurturing competent civil servants are essential.
The field of public financial management is broad covering various processes such as revenue enhancement, systematic allocation of expenditures, effective and efficient utilization of allocated funds, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the course participants to thoroughly study theoretical and practical aspects of public financial management and apply these systematically in their work to support the country's economic growth through strong public financial management capacity.
Totaling, 34 Director level officials responsible for planning and finance from the ministries and organizations will attend the special refresher course. The training will take place for five weeks, it’s learnt.
