Spanish police raid illegal tobacco factories

The Spanish Guardia Civil police, in collaboration with Europol, intercepted more than 3.5 million packets of contraband tobacco. During a massive operation, 3,500,000 packets of tobacco without a tax seal valued at 17,500,000 euros and 10,000 kilos of tobacco leaf, with a value of more than 20,000,000 euros was seized.

Three tobacco factories have been destroyed, with 27 individuals arrested. The three factories were equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and the value of these factories would be around 3,000,000 euros. The production capacity of the factories was around 540,000 packs per day.
