Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Thursday demanded a full investigation and clarification into the deadly high-speed train collision that killed at least 68 people. Sánchez visited the crash site and stated that it is unacceptable for Spain to suffer two rail accidents in the same year following a previous fatal crash in January.

The Transport Minister reported that an automatic train control system failed due to a computer malfunction, halting six trains across a 39-mile stretch.
