Spanish Forces arrest Suspected Trafficker in Europe

Members of a special unit of the Spanish Civil Guard arrested a suspected drug trafficker, aged 40, as part of a Europol-coordinated bust of a major crime ring smuggling drugs into Europe.

The three-year-long operation involved police forces from a dozen countries and ranged from Brazil to Spain via Turkey, leading to 40 arrests in six countries and the seizure of 8 tonnes of cocaine. The last four were arrested on Wednesday in Spain, according to the Hague-based European police force.
