Spain's King gives peace award to Colombia

Spain's King Felipe was ready to present "Colombian society and democracy" with the World Jurist Association's World Peace and Liberty Award on Friday.

Colombian President Ivan Duque accepted the award on his country's behalf at the ceremony in Barranquilla. King Felipe hailed the Colombia's "stable institutions" and its people while the rule of law was "suffering" in countries around the world.

In his own speech, Duque said there was a "moral duty" to oppose Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's administration. King Felipe was also a winner of the award in 2019.
