Spain Battles 14 Active Wildfires

Spain currently has 14 active wildfires across three regions, with the highest concentration in Castile and León, where eight fires are burning in León and two in Zamora. Asturias has three active fires, and Ourense has one. Civil Protection authorities report that weather conditions remain unfavourable, particularly during daylight hours, but improvement is expected from Wednesday in Ourense, Zamora, and León, and tomorrow in Asturias.

Fire danger will remain extreme in affected areas until Thursday or Friday. So far, 34,778 people have been evacuated in this wildfire episode, including 330 on the most recent day. Authorities have detained 46 individuals, with 134 under investigation.
