Mexico and Spain's foreign secretaries met on Wednesday, praising their diplomatic links following a suggested "pause" mentioned last month by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. During the meeting in Mexico City, both secretaries emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship."I hope that no Mexican ever feels like a foreigner in Spain because ours is a brotherhood relationship, a familiar relationship," said Spain's Secretary of Foreign Affairs. López Obrador said last month he would "pause" the bilateral relations after disagreements over Spanish investments in the country. The Spanish Secretary of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the strength of the economic and commercial ties with Mexico, with Spain being the second most important investor in the country.
