Southeast Asian leaders hold talks with Gulf state dignitaries in Kuala Lumpur as they seek to isolate their economies from geopolitical uncertainties, in particular US tariffs. Leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a regional bloc made up of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates attended Tuesday meeting.

There will also be an inaugural summit between ASEAN, the GCC, and China. Ahead of the ASEAN-GCC Summit, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the partnership between the two regions was key to "securing sustainable prosperity for all."
