South Korean Coast Guard hold security drill ahead of APEC summit

South Korean Coast Guard Sea Special Attack Team conducted a security drill using special task boats and underwater sonar at a lake in front of the APEC venue in Gyeongju to prevent possible terrorism and illegal activities during the summit.

Officer of South Korean Coast Guard Sea Special Attack Team said that "The Coast Guard, in coordination with the security control unit, are intensifying patrols and surveillance around Bomun Lake in Gyeongju ahead of the APEC summit to prevent terrorism and various illegal activities. They are closely monitoring areas prone to crowd gatherings and blind spots for potential risks, doing utmost to ensure the successful hosting of the APEC summit.
