South Africa President praises fire service effort

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa praised Cape Town's fire service for their rapid response to a blaze that broke out Sunday in the national Parliament complex.

The fire started on the third floor of an old building that houses offices and spread to the National Assembly building, where South Africa's Parliament now sits.

It appeared that the sprinkler system had not worked as it should have done.  A person had been detained in connection with the fire. However, the cause of the blaze remains unclear.  No injuries have been reported.
