Soldiers help rebuild flood-damaged homes

Reconstruction is underway in flood-affected communities across Viet Nam’s south-central region, with homes gradually being repaired and rebuilt.

Thousands of soldiers and police officers have been deployed to the area, many staying with local families as they assist with recovery efforts. Soldiers and residents now share household kitchens for cooking. Evening meals have grown more cheerful, with families dining and talking together—forming bonds that feel like extended family.

The Quang Trung housing campaign is expected to continue for nearly two more months. As soldiers and residents share meals and homes, the sense of solidarity here continues to grow stronger.
