
The Department of Rural Development and the German’s Development Bank (KfW) will jointly implement availability of electricity to 557 villages in Shan State (South) through Solar Home System-SHS.
The project will be implemented with the State budget, 7 million Euro fund of KfW and the public contribution.
The people will put 50,000 kyats for 60-W solar system and 150,000 kyats for 100-W solar system for two times in installment. The remaining cost of one set of solar system will be expensed from the project fund.
The public buildings such as schools, clinics, religious buildings and lamp posts in the project village will be provided cent per cent with the project fund and the public deposit fund for the household solar system will be used in the maintenance tasks, the Department of Rural Development.
With the support of the World Bank, the National Electrification Project- NEP is being implemented for the electricity access across the nation in 2030 and the Department of Rural Development is undertaking off-grid rural electrification tasks.
