Socio-Economic Situation Report

The Viet Nam’s General Statistics Office on Friday released its report on the socio-economic situation in August and the first eight months of this year. The Viet Nam Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index reached 52.4 points in August, the fifth consecutive month above the 50-point threshold.

In August, the total trade turnover of goods reached nearly 71 billion USD, up 13.5% year-on-year.  This figure reached more than 511 billion USD in the first eight months of the year, up 16.7% over the same period last year. The trade balance of goods had a surplus of more than 19 billion USD.
