Social Welfare: Receiving Indian Ambassador and discussion on PWDs Rights

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win received Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Vinay Kumar at the Ministry on Tuesday.

They discussed matters on development projects being implemented by the Indian Government in cooperation with Myanmar, providing humanitarian assistance, opening a Social Sciences Department at Naypyitaw State Academy, implementing development works in Rakhine State under the MOU between India and Myanmar, proposed projects by the Ministry under the Small Development Project, and cooperation with the AHA Center and UN organizations for providing humanitarian assistance. 

In the afternoon, Union Minister Dr. Soe Win, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Work Committee on the Rights of People with Disabilities (PWDs), held a meeting with the Chairman of the Myanmar Federation of PWD and representatives, members of the work committee, and officials.

The Union Minister delivered an opening speech, stating that the meeting would seek approval for the action plans for the effective implementation of the 5-year Strategic Plan for the Rights of PWDs. The attendees later discussed work implementations, and the meeting concluded with closing remarks by the Union Minister.
