Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye provided cash assistance to the social organizations, philanthropic organizations and elderly in Zigon, Bago Region, on Sunday.
At the Zigon Township General Administration Department, the Union Minister, together with Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and Bago Region Kayin Ethnic Affairs Minister, presented a total of 78.7331 million Kyats to the related officials at the ceremony.
At the meeting, the union minister explained the government’s efforts for the welfare of elders, children and persons with disabilities and providing assistances. Then, the Union Minister presented 3.756 million Kyats to Shwe Sal Wati Home for the Aged, 3.609 million Kyats to Nattalin Home for the Aged, and 3.168 million Kyats to Zingon Home for the Aged through officials concerned.
He also handed over 23.799 million Kyats for Min Kyaung Youth Development Center, 11.448 million Kyats for Thinkha Rai youth development center and 4.035 million Kyats for Letpadan youth development center to the officials.
Under the social pension scheme, the Union Minister presented 8.88 million Kyats for 296 disabled persons, social pension provision 16.5 million Kyats for the 550 elderly aged above 85 and 3.578 million Kyats for opening Mother Cycles (day nurseries) to the officials. The Union Minister and party then inspected the construction of Thayawady District Disaster Management Department in Thayawady.
