







In Shan State (South), a Social Security-Khaing Myintta Clinic was opened at Kanbawza Street, Yae Aye Ward in Taunggyi.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of Union Minister for Labour Dr. Pwint San, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, State Social Affairs Minister, officials from the University of Medicine (Taunggyi), and other concerned officials.
Following the formal opening, the Union Minister and officials toured the clinic. Subsequently, a ceremony was held to donate funds to the Sao San Tun People's Hospital (Taunggyi) and the Maternal and Child Care Association.
The Social Security Board, operating under the Ministry of Labour, is currently implementing the Social Insurance system to provide health care services and ensure the socio-economic well-being of workers and their benefits.
Collaborating with the private sector, clinics and hospitals are being established to cater to the health care needs of insured workers. Presently, there are 26 Capitation Payment clinics, 14 Fee for Service Payment clinics, 11 clinics offering gynecology care services, and 2 Mobile Medical Units providing health care services.
In Shan State, more than 16,000 insured workers are benefiting from the health care services offered by 40 clinics. There are plans underway to open additional clinics.
On 20th July, the Union Minister and party visited the Myanmar CP Factory in Ayethaya Industrial Zone to observe the process of health care provision by the Mobile Medical Unit. The Union Minister also held a meeting with the staff from various departments under the ministry in Taunggyi and gave instructions.
