Social Security Benefits: K97.114 million provided for insured workers in Mandalay

On 10th January, a ceremony to provide 40% of Social Security Benefit to the insured workers within Mandalay Region was held at the City Hall in Mandalay with the attendance of Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister highlighted the loss and damages within the nation caused by Typhoon Yagi and underscored the exerted efforts of the relevant ministries in providing necessary assistance to the affected citizens during and after disaster.

Moreover, the Ministry of Labor made strenuous efforts to provide necessary assistance to the insured workers. He added that there are a total of 1,197 flood affected workers among over 120,000 insured workers within the region.

Next, the Union Minister handed over 40% of social security benefit, amounting to 97.114 million kyat to the Mandalay Region Social Affairs Minister who later expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the workers. Then, the Union Minister and officials inspected the Region Labour Department Office in Aung MyayTharzan Township and gave necessary instructions.

On arrival at Skill Training Center in Pyigyitakhon Township, the Union Minister inspected the household electrical wiring training course, met with the staff from the township offices and provided necessary instructions. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the township labour office within the township. They also visited the social security general clinic (Baymakha) and inspected the healthcare service provision.
