Social Security Affairs: Benefits provided to insured workers in NPT

Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung on Thursday attended the ceremony to provide benefits for insured workers from the Registering Department in line with the 2012 social security law at the Headquarters of Social Security Board in Nay Pyi Taw.

It was also attended by Deputy Minister U Win Shein, Directors General, officials, employers, representatives of workers, insured workers and those who accept the benefits. On the occasion, the Union Minister said that Social Security Board is an organization that is carrying out in line with the motto “One for all, All for one” for insured workers to get financial benefits for health care, illness, maternity, death and workplace injuries and medical treatment after retiring.

So, employers need to register for their workers in line with the law and it is necessary to pay the fees and to withdraw the benefits without losing. He added that the Social Security Board needs to offer better services in line with current situation. At the ceremony, over 20 million kyat were provided to the 20 insured workers for medical costs and antenatal care according to the health and social care insurance system, and bereavement supports according to the workplace injuries insurance system.
