Smooth Transportation: New road opened in Kengtung Township

In commemoration of the 77th Anniversary Independence Day, the newly constructed concrete road in Kaung Kan Village of Kengtung Township was opened on December 31st.

Speaking on the occasion, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung urged the locals and town elders to ensure for long-term durability of the road while making systematic supervision from preventing overloaded vehicles using the facility.

After the clarification made by the Director of the Rural Development Department, one of the town elders expressed words of thanks. Then, the new road was opened by cutting ceremonial ribbons by the Chief Minister and concerned officials who later inspected the road and gallery displacement.

 The 1,680 feet long new concrete road was constructed with 150 million kyats fund of Village Development Planning (VDP) and contributions by well-wishers. This new facility brings many benefits for locals to ensure smooth transportation access, education, health, economy and many other sectors.
