Small Scale Industry: Nearly 200 businesses registered in Yangon Region

In Yangon Region, there are about 199 businesses registered at the Small Scale Industries Department within the first 6 months of 2022-2023 financial years. Most of the registered businesses are foods and consumer goods businesses.

Head, Small Scale Industries Dept. (Yangon), Thet Naing Oo said "Most of the registered businesses in Yangon Region are foods and consumer goods businesses and these small businesses are being carried out at homes. For registration, foods and consumer goods need to be tested at governmental relevant laboratories. We will give the permission of registering if they pass the laboratory test. "

The head officer suggests that the owners of businesses should carry out the registration process. In this way, the Department can explain requirements of businesses and information on courses conducted by the Department. Currently, there are 3,252 of small and medium businesses in Yangon Region.
