Small-scale industries development: Laws & by-laws adopted in Ayeyawady Region for SSID

The majority of small-scale industries have been operating in the Ayeyarwaddy Region across the nation and therefore, laws and by-laws are adopted for the development of the small-scale industries.

With the aim to develop the small-scale industries and to be able to operate in a systematic way, the Ayeyawady Region Cottage Industry Development Law was promulgated on 3rd October, 2018 according to the Ayeyawady Region Hluttaw Law No. (7/2018) and the by-law was promulgated on 18th October, 2020 according to the Region Hluttaw Law No. (2/2020).

Director, SSID (Ayeyawady Region), Nwe Nwe Wah said "According to the announcement, entrepreneurs enjoy 10 rights on acquiring technology provided by the department for boosting production and high quality product, sending the self-made products to domestic and foreign markets, purchasing raw materials, equipment and spare parts with the foreign income by exporting goods, getting a chance to attend seminars and training courses in abroad, assistance from department, foreign experts and loan, enabling to sell the products manufactured by domestic industries registered at the department freely in the domestic markets, competing tender invitation related to domestic industries, holding workshops and trade shows in the cooperation with domestic industrialists and purchasing and storing raw materials needed for the business according to the specification."

In 2022-2013 FY, plans are being made to register more than 300 small-scale industries. 38 industries will be registered at the end of August and currently, 58 have been registered in the Ayeyarwaddy Region. The rest of small scale industries will be carried out to meet the registration requirements till the end of the financial year.
